A Day Off…?
An Alleycat Crew Short
Calynn looked amazing in her bikini, if she did say so herself.
Kash hadn’t wanted to go to the beach. Then she put on the bikini.
Now he couldn’t keep his hands off her, and they were soon selecting chairs at the edge of Bruschelle Beach.
The black sands of Bruschelle were somehow always cool to the touch and, more importantly, didn’t get everywhere like normal beach sand.
Their chairs sat right at the edge of the water. The waves lapped lazily at their feet, and a wide umbrella shielded their eyes from the fierce glare of the sun.
When Kash saw what he called fire wine on the drink menu, Calynn encouraged him to splurge. They hadn’t had any since the party at Volci’s base when they were delivering that stupid cannon.
She remembered that night very clearly.
That had been a really good night.
Calynn was admiring Kash’s physique while she waited for the fire wine to arrive—and for it to turn up his lust for her—when his comm started to ding.
“Don’t you dare answer that, mister,” Calynn warned him.
“I wasn’t gonna.”
“Good. We’re taking the day off.”
“I know.”
“Okay.”
His comm finally stopped beeping, and Calynn returned to her daydreaming. Would he carry her back to their ship later? She loved when he did that.
DING DING
This time Kash lifted his head and glanced at her.
“Don’t you do it,” Calynn scolded playfully. “It’s our day off.”
“I know,” Kash agreed.
“Okay.”
The comm stopped again… but only for a couple seconds.
DING DING
“Okay, that might actually be important,” Kash said, sitting up in his chair.
“But it’s our day off,” Calynn whined.
“Yeah.”
Kash answered the comm.
He sat there quietly for a moment, listening. Calynn couldn’t tell who it was since no image was projected.
“Okay… sure… alright… no, thank you.”
Kash ended the comm and leaned back in his chair again.
Calynn tried to wait patiently.
She really did.
“And?” she asked sharply.
“And what?”
“I’m going to beat you soon. Who was on the comm?”
“Oh,” Kash said casually. “That was the resort concierge. He wanted to know if I’d like them to deliver another bottle of fire wine to our suite.”
Calynn blinked.
“We have a suite?”
“Honeymoon suite.”
“We have a honeymoon suite?” she asked, suddenly sitting upright. “For how long?”
Kash held up three fingers.
Calynn stared at him.
“We get to stay here for three days?”
Kash slowly turned his head to look at her, a smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth.
“What have I told you about biting your lower lip like that?” Kash asked softly.
“That it’s dead sexy and you can’t keep your hands off me.”
“And you know this bottle of fire wine is nearly empty, right?” Kash said, lifting the bottle slightly.
“Yeah.”
“Well…” Kash said quietly, leaning a little closer. “With the euphoric effects of the wine removing all my inhibitions, I didn’t think my love for you could be contained to just one day.”
He glanced at the bottle again.
“Just… don’t let me look at how much we spent on the wine until we leave.”
Calynn leaned closer still.
“If I never let you see the bill… can we stay five days?”
Kash’s smile widened.
“My girl.”
